What we build

New possibilities.
Respect for the original.

We work on both historic and newer homes, from whole-home remodeling and additions to kitchens, baths, custom carpentry, and careful restoration work. Every home calls for a different approach. We balance modern performance with the proportions, materials, and character that made you fall in love with the house in the first place.

01

Whole-home remodeling & additions

Structural, mechanical, and finish work coordinated so the result feels like it has always belonged.

02

Historic restoration

Careful repair and preservation of windows, trim, plaster, millwork, and irreplaceable details.

03

Custom carpentry & cabinetry

Built-ins, architectural millwork, cabinetry, and one-off pieces fitted to the room.

04

Kitchens & baths

Practical layouts, careful installation, and durable finishes for everyday living.

Our approach

A well-built project starts before demolition.

  1. 01

    Understand

We study the house, the priorities, and the constraints before deciding what the work should be.

  2. 02

    Plan

We clarify the scope, selections, cost expectations, and sequence of work before construction begins.

  3. 03

    Build

Experienced oversight, documented progress, and direct communication keep the project organized and moving forward.

  4. 04

    Refine

We carry the same attention through the final details, from touch-ups to the final walkthrough.

Understand first. Build with intent.

The details decide everything.

Good work begins with understanding what is already there. Whether we are restoring original details, remodeling a room, or building an addition, we study the house’s proportions, materials, and construction so the new work feels like it belongs.

“The goal is not to make an old house feel new. It is to preserve what makes it special while helping it work for the way people live today.” — Chad McDade

About Chad McDade

A lifetime in the trades.

Building is not simply the work I do; it is part of my history. My family includes generations of carpenters, wagon makers, and blacksmiths—people who understood that useful things should also be carefully and honestly made.

I began working in construction in 1993 and have spent more than three decades working across residential and commercial construction, including new homes, additions, remodeling, disaster restoration, historic restoration, custom carpentry, and cabinetmaking. That range taught me that good work starts with understanding why something was built a certain way—not simply how quickly it can be replaced.

Older homes deserve that kind of care. I believe traditional methods still have an important place, and modern tools should help us work with greater precision—not erase the details that gave a building its character. I also believe the craft has to be passed on, which is why teaching the people working beside me matters as much as the finished result.

Away from the jobsite, I enjoy reading, writing, painting on canvas, the outdoors, and dogs. After more than 30 years, I still enjoy taking raw materials and turning them into something useful, lasting, and carefully made.
